Starkey

Starkey

In 1967, a man from Minnesota by the name of William F. Austin started a small hearing aid repair shop after dropping out of medical school. That small hearing aid shop has since evolved into Starkey, a now globally recognized manufacturer of powerful and innovative hearing devices. William Austin lived and worked under the philosophy that, “”Alone we can’t do much. Together, we can change the world.” Although Starkey Hearing Technologies now distributes hearing aids across the globe, they are proud of the fact that they are and have always been headquartered here in the United States. Starkey is currently the only American-owned and operated manufacturer of hearing devices.

Starkey is also a consistently cutting-edge company, with past innovations such as being the first to create in-canal hearing aids as well as the first manufacturer to create custom, digital and fully customizable hearing aids. Starkey continues to value innovation and strives to tackle the issues that make it difficult for us to hear.

Remaining true to the vision of their founder, Starkey has always upheld a commitment to philanthropy. The Starkey Hearing Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission to “give the gift of hearing”. To date, the foundation has donated and fitted over 1.1 million hearing aids to people all over the world, who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to hear.

Starkey Hearing Aid Series

Starkey Muse iQ – “the hearing aid for music lovers”.

Starkey Muse and Muse iQ pride themselves on being hearing aids for music lovers, but the technology they include is so much more than that. Muse hearing aids help you to restore natural listening benefits of the ear by using Acuity™ Immersion Directionality technology. This technology understands what it is you want to hear, and allows for better speech intelligibility – even in the most difficult listening environments. The Muse also includes improved wireless streaming directly to your hearing aids using SurfLink™ technology and provides customizable tinnitus relief. They also, of course, include technology that allows musical notes to be heard – just as the artist intended them.

Muse hearing aids also boast helpful external features such as rechargeable models and a powerful shield against moisture and dust – thus creating a durable and dependable product.

Starkey Halo iQ – “the first made-for-iPhone hearing aid”.

The Starkey Halo 2 and Halo iQ offer similar innovative and powerful features as the Muse family, however, are considered fully smartphone compatible. For example, the Halo allows calls or music to stream directly from your iPhone to your hearing aids, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the conversation. Another exciting features of the Halo is automatic geotagging. Using your smartphone’s map technology, your hearing aids can automatically detect where you are, and thus fine tune your listening experience for that environment. For example, the settings will be vastly different from “home” to “office” to the park where you take your morning run, and your hearing aids will know where you are and automatically adjust to that setting.

Starkey SoundLens Synergy iQ – “the world’s smallest, most comfortable custom fit invisible hearing aid”.

Don’t let their invisibility fool you, SoundLens Synergy iQ hearing aids really do pack a punch. They are completely custom, absolutely tiny, and virtually undetectable but still include the powerful features present in other Starkey model hearing aids. Some of these features include customizable tinnitus relief, and gradually adjusted settings to help you get used to your new hearing aids faster.

iQ Series

You may have noticed that all of these hearing aid series end in iQ. iQ is Starkey’s newest dimension to hearing technology and has been added to each of their current models. iQ technology aims to create a truly immersive listening experience, one that helps wearers be more present and hear more clearly during the moments that matter the most. iQ technology was created using research into virtual reality. iQ hopes to deliver the clearest and most natural sounding listening experience possible.
